HR Manager – Philippines
MWC Group
Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga
Full-time | On-site
MWC Group is strengthening its Philippines operation and is looking for an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the local HR function in Clark.
This is not a junior HR administration role.
We are looking for someone with the experience, judgement and confidence to manage day-to-day HR matters independently, advise managers, handle employee relations properly, maintain strong employment controls and ensure that the Philippines operation has a professional and well-run people function.
You will work closely with our Global COO, Department Heads, Finance, Compliance and local management, while directly supervising our existing HR support resource.
A key objective of this role is to ensure that routine Philippine HR matters are handled effectively at local level, with only genuinely material issues requiring escalation to senior Group management.
You will take ownership of the Philippines HR function, including:
Employee relations, disciplinary matters and grievances
Probation, regularisation and performance-management processes
Recruitment, screening, onboarding and workforce planning
Employment contracts, offer letters and HR documentation
Philippine labour-law and DOLE compliance
Attendance, timekeeping, leave and overtime governance
Payroll and statutory-benefit coordination with Finance
SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and HMO administration oversight
HR policies and Employee Handbook implementation
Employee files, records and document control
Learning, development and onboarding programmes
Zoho Learn / training administration
Performance reviews and KPI-cycle coordination
Workplace welfare and OSH support
HR reporting and management information
Supporting organisational change and the continued development of the Clark office
You will also supervise and develop the HR Assistant and ensure that HR processes are properly documented, consistently followed and completed on time.
We are looking for someone who can run HR, rather than someone who still needs to be taught how to handle difficult HR situations.
Ideally, you will have:
At least 8 years’ progressive HR experience
At least 3–5 years in an HR Manager, HR Business Partner or similar senior HR role
Strong practical knowledge of Philippine employment practices and labour standards
Experience handling employee relations, disciplinary matters and grievances
Experience with probation, regularisation and performance management
Strong recruitment and onboarding experience
Good understanding of attendance, payroll inputs and statutory benefits
Experience drafting and reviewing HR documentation
Confidence dealing with DOLE and other employment-related requirements
Experience implementing HR policies and controls
Strong written and spoken English
Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
Experience with HRIS, payroll or attendance systems
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
Financial services
Banking
Insurance
Professional services
Multinational organisations
BPO / shared-services environments
Highly regulated industries
Organisational restructuring or transformation
Building or improving an HR function
Supporting international management teams
Experience with Zoho People, Zoho Learn or PayrollHero would be useful but is not essential.
You are likely to do well in this role if you are:
Mature and commercially minded
Comfortable making decisions
Highly confidential
Calm under pressure
Strong at handling difficult conversations
Assertive without being confrontational
Able to challenge poor practice professionally
Organised and detail-oriented
Comfortable working with senior international management
Able to distinguish between issues you should resolve yourself and issues that genuinely need escalation
We want someone who can bring management a recommended solution, not simply pass problems upwards.
Within the first few months, we would expect you to:
Take control of the day-to-day HR function
Ensure employee records and documentation are complete and current
Establish a disciplined probation and performance-review process
Strengthen onboarding and employee training
Improve attendance and leave governance
Identify and address HR compliance gaps
Establish clear monthly HR reporting
Improve consistency across recruitment, contracts and employee relations
Develop the existing HR support resource
Significantly reduce the need for senior Group management to intervene in routine local HR matters
MWC Group is an international wealth-management business operating across multiple jurisdictions.
The Clark office supports a number of Group functions and is entering an important phase of development.
This role offers the opportunity to have a genuine impact on how the Philippines operation is structured and managed. You will not simply inherit an HR process and maintain it — you will help strengthen and professionalise the function.
₱70,000 – ₱80,000 gross per month, depending on experience and capability.
We may consider a higher package for an exceptional candidate with substantial senior HR experience in a multinational or regulated environment.
