Job summary

Oceanic Catering in the Philippines is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead the employee lifecycle, advise managers, and ensure policy compliance across regions.

You will partner with hiring managers, manage performance development, payroll, recruitment, and employee relations, and contribute to change initiatives such as M&A due diligence and regulatory updates.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) qualification and a degree in HR or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar HR/ER role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policy, Employment Law, M&A, and Employee Relations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and implement HR activities supporting the employee lifecycle.
  • Partner with hiring managers to lead end-to-end recruitment and workforce planning.
  • Provide high quality HR guidance to managers to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Manage disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence cases in compliance with policy and law.
  • Advise managers on HR policy interpretation and legal requirements.
  • Prepare HR documentation to demonstrate compliance with policies and laws.
  • Liaise with local and global HR on regulatory changes and communication.
  • Lead change initiatives and assist with due diligence and redundancy calculations.
  • Build relationships with line managers and support staff queries and expectations.
  • Ensure high-quality HR outputs in coordination with Head of HR.

Job description

  • Plan, organise and implement HR activities which support the employee lifecycle such as Performance Development Review, Learning & Development, Payroll, Recruitment, Benefit administration and Visa’s, ensuring these activities are performed in accordance with procedures and legislation.
  • Partner with hiring managers to lead and support end-to-end recruitment activities, including workforce planning, role scoping, candidate assessment, interview processes, and offer recommendations.
  • Provide high quality HR advice and guidance to managers to facilitate the early resolution of employee relations issues, ensuring that the risks associated with such cases are effectively managed.
  • Support the management of disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence cases. Advising managers on policy/procedure and legislation, obtaining medical reports as required, supporting formal investigations and hearings.
  • Manage sickness absence in collaboration with managers, assisting colleagues back to work and working with managers to reduce sickness absence across the organisation, using the relevant company policies as appropriate.
  • Advise and coach managers on the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures in accordance with current and proposed employment legislation and local arrangements, to ensure consistency, accuracy and best practice.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant HR documentation required to demonstrate the office complies with Group Policies and Country specific employment legislation.
  • Liaise with local and global HR resource to ensure any new regulatory or legislative changes required are planned and effected appropriately with clear and consistent communication to enhance adoption at Group, regional and local levels as appropriate.
  • Act as HR lead, alongside managers, in the management of change issues, leading in formal consultation exercises and processing information such as M&A due diligence and redundancy calculations.
  • Support the management of complex employee cases relating to disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence. This includes providing advice to managers on policy/procedure and legislation, liaising with Occupational Health, supporting formal investigations and hearings.
  • Build good working relationships with all line managers in order to better understand their needs and provide appropriate HR related support.
  • Manage staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations.
  • Ensure a high-quality standard of work is produced within the HR team in collaboration with the Head of HR.
  • Actively participate in Audits and inspections representing HR
  • Providing relevant assistance to the Head of HR as and when needed.
  • Contribute to wider HR and company projects and initiatives given area of focus and to enhance personal development.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to cross functional teams and stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships and facilitating alignment on people-related matters
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) qualified and degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Proven experience in a similar position
  • Strong experience and knowledge of HR policy, Employment Law, M&A, and Employee Relations required
  • Proficient in advising and supporting managers on a range of employee relations matters to an appropriate conclusion
  • Expert in oral and written English language
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ability to engage at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with a focus on attention to

  • A positive, can-do and pragmatic approach to challenges and complexity
  • Multinational organisation experience
  • Knowledge of HCM Sage People system an advantage
