JOB SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Associate (Room Attendant) is responsible for providing clean, comfortable , and well maintained guest rooms in accordance with hotel brand standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring that guests have a pleasant and memorable experience by maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. During the pre-opening phase, their key tasks are to set-up the rooms and public area of the hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Room and Public Area Cleaning:

• Maintains an assigned section of guest rooms and corridors, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness by performing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures for staterooms, bathrooms, balconies, and corridors.
• Cleans furniture, walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, floors, upholstery, carpets, draperies, and room accessories. Sweeps, scrubs, vacuums, and sprays or fogs carpets and upholstery with fabric conditioners, protectors, deodorizers, and disinfectants.
• Ensures that all glasses in guest rooms and bathrooms are washed in the dishwasher during every service.
• Replenishes daily supplies, such as towels, amenities, and stationery.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi/pool areas, including weekly and monthly super chlorination sanitation.

Waste Management and Linen Handling

• Sorts soiled linen and terry in designated linen bags for the Linen-runner to collect and return to the laundry.
  Empties and segregates trash and garbage, placing it in the designated containers.

Guest Services and Amenities:

• Replaces mini-bar items upon consumption.
• Receives guest laundry and dry cleaning, transports to laundry for processing, and returns cleaned items to the guest's room, along with laundry bills.
• Assists with room service and delivery requests as needed.

Cost Control and Equipment Maintenance:

• Manages the proper use, handling, and maintenance of chemicals, supplies, equipment, stateroom amenities, and consumable items to ensure cost containment.
• Maintains cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and trolleys in proper working condition, requisitions supplies when needed.

Other Tasks:

• Upholds the company's code of conduct and models the resort’s mission, vision, and core values in daily operations.
• Maintains a high standard of appearance and hygiene at all times in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Follows the “I Love Earth” program and SEPCU and HSU Public Health guidelines when cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, and balconies.
• Ensures that the work area is free from hazards to guests and staff members.
• Works closely with the Butler to ensure all services meet company standards and guest expectations.
• Attends meetings, training, and other work-related activities as required.
• Reports maintenance issues immediately to management.
• Performs any additional tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the Housekeeping department and the delivery of exceptional service.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• College graduate of any four (4) year degree preferably in Hotel Management
• Preferably with at least six months to one year of work experience in housekeeping or a similar role in hospitality
• Customer Interaction: Adept at interacting with customers from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, providing exceptional service.
• Confidentiality and Discretion: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Fundamental Level of Communication skills: Includes basic language proficiency, the ability to read and understand instructions (e.g., cleaning procedures, safety guidelines), and the capacity to comprehend and respond appropriately to simple conversations and instructions.
