Overview
The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained according to hotel standards. This includes making beds, cleaning bathrooms, replenishing amenities, and attending to special guest requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy guest rooms.
- Dust all surfaces.
- Replenish amenities (towels, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, etc.).
- Empty trash and ashtrays.
- Spot clean walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and special needs.
- Report any maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, leaks) to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Ensure guest privacy and security at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping or a related field is a plus, but not always required for entry-level positions.
- Skills:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in cleaning and ensuring guest room standards are met.
- Organizational Skills: Efficiently managing time and tasks to clean multiple rooms effectively.
- Customer Service Skills: Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff.
- Communication: Basic communication skills (verbal and sometimes written) for reporting issues and interacting with supervisors.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds or more.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Safety: Adherence to all hotel safety and security protocols.
- Professionalism: Maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
