Job summary

Innodata Knowledge Services, Inc. seeks an accomplished Head of Engineering to lead Delivery Engineering for a rapidly growing AI/LLM practice.

You will build and scale teams across software, data, AI/ML, and research to deliver production-grade platforms and automation solutions for enterprise clients. You will shape strategy, governance, and engineering standards, and partner with Delivery Operations, Product, and executives to accelerate delivery and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, AI engineering, platform engineering, or enterprise technology.
• At least 8 years leading engineering managers or senior technical leaders.
• Proven experience building and scaling engineering organizations supporting enterprise or client-facing technology solutions.
• Demonstrated success delivering production software, AI, machine learning, or cloud platforms at scale.
• Strong experience in software architecture, engineering delivery, cloud technologies, and modern software development practices.
• Experience working with global enterprise clients, particularly across North America or EMEA.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy for the AI/LLM Practice in alignment with business objectives.
• Build reusable platforms, developer tools, automation frameworks, and engineering accelerators.
• Establish engineering standards, architecture principles, technical governance, and software development best practices.
• Drive innovation that improves delivery speed, scalability, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Lead engineering teams across software engineering, AI/ML, data engineering, automation, technical research, and quality engineering.
• Deliver production-ready engineering solutions supporting multiple global AI client programs.
• Scale engineering capability through a mix of permanent staff, consultants, contractors, and specialized partners.
• Ensure engineering solutions meet performance, security, reliability, and client expectations.
• Serve as the senior engineering partner for client engineering and technology leaders.
• Lead technical solutioning, architecture reviews, engineering planning, and pre-sales support.
• Partner with Delivery, Product, Operations, and Corporate Engineering to develop technology-enabled service offerings and automation initiatives.
• Support business growth by creating scalable engineering capabilities that improve productivity and client outcomes.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering leaders and technical teams.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive workforce planning and talent acquisition to support the Practice’s continued expansion.

Job description

Innodata is seeking an accomplished engineering executive to lead the Delivery Engineering organization supporting our rapidly growing AI/LLM Practice.

As Head of Engineering, you will build and scale the engineering capability that enables world-class AI delivery across software engineering, data engineering, applied AI, machine learning, and technical research. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams that develop production-ready platforms, automation solutions, and reusable engineering capabilities for some of the world’s leading AI companies.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical direction. You will partner closely with Delivery Operations, Product, Corporate Engineering, and executive leadership to translate complex client requirements into scalable engineering solutions that accelerate delivery, improve quality, and drive business growth.

We’re looking for a builder who has successfully scaled engineering organizations, delivered production systems at enterprise scale, and developed high-performing engineering leaders in fast-paced technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Strategy
