About the role

PTC Commercial Corporation is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Hardware Technician to join our team in Tondo, Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and supporting our hardware infrastructure. As a Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of computer systems, networking equipment, and related hardware components across our organisation. Your expertise will be instrumental in minimising downtime and maintaining the technological backbone that supports our business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and networking equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative care on computer systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
• Respond promptly to hardware support requests and service calls from end-users
• Replace faulty components, including hard drives, memory modules, processors, and other hardware parts
• Conduct hardware testing and quality assurance checks to ensure equipment meets operational standards
• Document all hardware repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment inventory accurately
• Collaborate with IT and technical teams to resolve complex hardware issues and implement system upgrades
• Stay updated with emerging hardware technologies and best practices in the industry
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users on proper hardware usage and care

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) is highly desirable
• Proven experience (2+ years) working as a Hardware Technician or in a similar technical support role
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, architectures, and assembly procedures
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware malfunctions and system failures
• Experience with networking equipment, servers, and data centre infrastructure
• Familiarity with hardware diagnostic tools and testing equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
• Physical capability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 25 kilograms
• Willingness to participate in on-call support and emergency maintenance when required
