Job summary

onsemi in Carmona, Cavite, Philippines seeks a Handler Section Manager to lead equipment reliability, drive automation, and advance continuous improvement.

You will provide technical leadership for handler equipment, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Quality, Product Engineering, and global partners to align with factory performance goals and technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams or section heads.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical teams to achieve world-class reliability and productivity targets.
  • Serve as the technical authority for complex handler equipment, mechanical, automation, and manufacturing challenges.
  • Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce risk.
  • Develop engineering talent through coaching, competency development, succession planning, and technical training programs.
  • Lead and empower engineers and technicians to deliver business objectives with a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Establish strategic spare parts and asset management programs to maximize equipment availability and cost efficiency.
  • Manage engineering budgets, resources, and cost optimization initiatives aligned with operational and business goals.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and engineering governance across all handler engineering activities.
  • Ensure robust documentation, standards, and knowledge management systems for equipment and maintenance processes.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Test Engineering, and global stakeholders to support factory performance and technology roadmap.
  • Drive automation, tooling, and engineering innovation to improve quality, efficiency, and long-term organizational capability.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Handler Section Manager leads in driving equipment reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The role provides technical leadership for handler equipment, develops engineering talent, and drives innovation, automation, and reliability initiatives. Working closely with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Quality, Product Engineering, and global stakeholders, ensures alignment with factory performance goals, technology roadmaps, and long-term organizational capability development.

  • Lead the technical teams to achieve world-class reliability, SSR, downtime, OEE, and productivity targets
  • Serve as the technical authority for complex equipment, mechanical, automation, and manufacturing challenges
  • Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce risk
  • Develop engineering talent through coaching, competency development, succession planning, and technical training programs
  • Lead and empower engineers and technicians to deliver business objectives with a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams, supervisors, or section heads.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams, strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with global and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong expertise in multi-platform handler equipment, deployment, improvement and sustainment.
  • Expertise in mechanical design, handler systems & applications, engineering drawings, and material applications affecting temperature, wear, friction, and reliability.
  • Experience with handler platforms such as M4841, MT9928, MT9510, MT9308, SRM, DeltaEdge, or equivalent handler equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality systems methodologies such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, 8D, CAPA, Lean Manufacturing and metrology disciplines
  • Knowledge of manufacturing test and wafer probe processes.
