Job summary

Sunlight Express Airways Corporation is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Technician in Cebu. The role focuses on inspecting, maintaining, and repairing ground service machinery such as baggage tugs, pushback tractors, fuel trucks, and GPUs to ensure safety and reliability on the ramp.

Requirements include a Diploma or TESDA certification in Automotive/Mechanical and 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Automotive Technology or related vocational/technical course; TESDA or related certification is a plus.
• 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of heavy equipment or aviation ground support equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel/gasoline engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and preventive maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides maintenance and repairs of ground support equipment following set policies and procedures.
• Executes all assigned maintenance and repair works efficiently to maximize utilization of ground support equipment.
• Maintains GSE maintenance records and submits to supervisor.
• Keeps workshop area clean and orderly; maintains permits and serviceability of company equipment and rotable spares.
• Responds to GSE maintenance service calls and supports senior staff as needed.

Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the machinery and vehicles that service aircraft on the ground, such as baggage tugs, pushback tractors, fuel trucks, and portable power units. They ensure that all equipment are safe, reliable, and functional to prevent flight delays and accidents.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides maintenance and repairs of ground support equipment following set policies and procedures.
• Executes all assigned maintenance and repair works in an efficient manner to maximize the utilization of ground support equipment.
• Accomplishes applicable GSE maintenance records (i.e. maintenance logbook, maintenance requests, and other GSE forms) and submits to his immediate superior.
• Implements effective workshop housekeeping of his area of responsibility.
• Secures and updates permits necessary to perform his assigned function.
• Ensures the completeness and serviceability of company-issued and rotable spares.
• Responds to GSE maintenance service emergency calls.
• Undertakes and delegates assignments or other related duties as the Unit Chief may assign.

Job Qualifications:

• Graduate of Automotive Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related vocational/technical course; possessing a TESDA or related certification is a plus
• At least 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, service vehicles, or airport ground support equipment in an aviation or airport environment
• Strong knowledge of one or more of the ff: Diesel and gasoline engines, Hydraulic systems, Electrical systems and troubleshooting, Preventive maintenance procedures
• Working knowledge in the maintenance of one or more of the ff: Baggage tractors, Belt loaders, Ground power units (GPU), Air start units, Lavatory and water service trucks
• Valid professional driver’s license
• Physically fit and able to work in outdoor ramp conditions
• Willing to work shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays
