Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex HR tech and employee experience initiatives across a global, matrixed environment. You will drive strategic enablement, manage multi-phase projects, and ensure alignment with objectives, timelines, and budgets.

The role emphasizes stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement with a hybrid work arrangement and focus on well-being and inclusion.

Competenze

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in HR technology or employee experience domains.
• PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with process improvement, automation, and digital tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Workday).
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, cross-functional projects in matrixed environments.
• Skilled in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex business and technical projects across multiple stakeholder groups, with a focus on strategic enablement and operational excellence.
• Manage projects through all phases - from initiation to implementation - ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and partners, to ensure successful project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including budget management, personnel, and technology, to optimize project outcomes and efficiency.
• Drive process innovation and automation, identifying opportunities to streamline delivery and enhance user experience.
• Exercise advanced decision-making skills to solve complex project challenges, balancing risk and opportunity while ensuring project objectives are met.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
• Provide clear, consistent communication to project teams, sponsors, and leadership.
• Champion cross-functional collaboration, establishing shared goals and accountability across teams.
• Inspire, mentor, and develop project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Track and report on project performance, including financials, resource utilization, and outcomes.
• Impacts the achievement of operational, project or service objectives that may have influence on customer experience.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Act as a change agent, helping teams navigate ambiguity and adopt new ways of working.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in HR technology or employee experience domains.
• PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with process improvement, automation, and digital tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Workday).
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, cross-functional projects in matrixed environments.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect project outcomes to enterprise strategy.
• Skilled in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience working with AI, data platforms, or emerging technologies is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization and communicate difficult concepts and information to customers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to navigate complexity and drive clarity.
• Exceptional communication skills - written, verbal, and visual - with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and leading through change.
• Global mindset and flexibility to support distributed teams across time zones.
