Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Certification Engineer to lead product certification activities for global market access. You will coordinate with recognized certification bodies, prepare technical documentation, and guide product development teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will evaluate products against electrical safety, hazardous location, marine, and international standards while supporting UL, CSA, CE, ATEX, IECEx, and other approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in product safety engineering, product certification, compliance testing, or related safety functions.
• Experience with UL, CSA, Intertek, TÜV or equivalent bodies.
• Experience supporting certification activities for global markets.
• Hands-on with UL/IEC 62368-1, IEC 60079, UL/CSA/FM/ATEX/IECEx standards.
• Experience testing and working with certification bodies and regulatory orgs.
• Familiarity with switch mode power supplies and UPS.
• Proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and AI tools.
• Ability to read schematics and magnetic specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead product certification activities to support global market access.
• Coordinate certification projects with certification bodies and testing agencies.
• Prepare and maintain technical certification documentation and test reports.
• Interpret requirements and advise product teams.
• Evaluate products for compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support UL, CSA, CE, ATEX, IECEx, ABS, DNV approvals.
• Maintain lab accreditation and quality system compliance.
• Conduct and support safety testing per UL/IEC standards.
• Assist audits related to laboratory accreditation and certification activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product management teams.
• Review test data and certification reports for compliance.
• Investigate certification issues and implement corrective actions.
• Stay aware of evolving global certification requirements.
• Manage RoHS and regulatory reporting activities.
