Job summary
Advanced Energy seeks a Principal Engineer, Automation to lead the global deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies across multiple sites. The role drives automation, robotics, machine vision, Industry 4.0, and smart factory initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Director, Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, you will develop scalable automation solutions, support factory setup, and standardize best practices across
Qualifications
- Minimum 12+ years in manufacturing engineering and automation.
- 5+ years leading automation or manufacturing engineering teams.
- Experience deploying automation across multiple sites globally.
- Extensive expertise in SMT, PCBA, wave soldering, assembly and testing.
- Strong background in MES, IIoT, machine connectivity and realtime monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the global AME automation roadmap.
- Lead ROI analysis and CAPEX justification for productivity gains.
- Establish global standards for automation equipment and processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Drive AI/ML applications for defect detection and process optimization.
- Implement IIoT, real-time monitoring and digital traceability.
- Develop dashboards and analytics for OEE, FPY and uptime.
- Mentor engineers in automation technologies and project management.
