San Miguel Aerocity Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Metro Manila to assist in managing geotechnical works, ensuring compliance with codes and standards across civil, marine and coastal projects.
You will support structural/geotechnical design and reviews, review contractor submissions, perform soil investigations, field tests and lab work, and liaise with project teams and authorities to ensure timely progress and quality results.
The Geotechnical Engineer will assist in the management of the overall process, operation, coordination, integration and implementation of all geotechnical works, trades and systems and ensure all works to the compliance of agreed intents, standards, codes, and requirements.

Ensure the implementation of design management and design quality assurance systems, including ensuring design production to a high standard in accordance with Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, and appropriate technical standards.
Support in all Structural/Geotechnical design and design review activities.
Ensure contractor design submissions meet the specifications and regulatory requirements, with endorsement as internal quality control process. Checked that all designs are prepared in accordance with the Design Process Plan and standards (British Standard, ASTM and Philippines design standards) on civil engineering, public works and highway and marine and coastal related works.
Review reports related to design, and in accordance with the requirements.
Analysis designs related to soil improvement, geotechnical stability and coastal protection works.
Analysis designs related to all structural/geotechnical elements from foundations to above ground works across a range of materials including concrete (both reinforced and pre /post tensioned) and steel.
Address and resolve any design-related issues or challenges that arise during the construction process such as temporary works, slope failure, etc.
Attend project progress meetings.
Coordinate communication between project team members, contractors and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration on design activities to facilitates the construction works progress.
Be able to liaise with Contractors and government authorities independently during the design process and ensure requirements are clearly identified and addressed.
Provide professional and competent structural/geotechnical engineering services for commercial, public, industrial, and other relevant structures in Marine Facilities like revetment, shoreline protection, and ports and harbours structures. The services includes soil investigation, field tests and laboratory works and design.
Must be a graduate of any of the following fields: Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or Geology.
Must have at least 5 years of professional experience with at least five 3 years’ related experience in geotechnical engineering, site investigation, soil stability, etc.
Experience inreview of geotechnical data and reports which will be used in the detailed engineering design level for structures.
Experience in writing, evaluating and preparing geotechnical reports for airport facilities and/or mega development projects is an advantage.
