SMEC Philippines, Inc. invites applications for a senior geotechnical construction supervisor to oversee shaft excavation, earthworks, dewatering, and diaphragm wall activities on hydropower/infrastructure projects in Luzon.
You will monitor geotechnical performance, verify compliance with drawings, and prepare field records. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with 10 years’ plus experience, strong communication and on-site leadership skills, and the ability to work with contractors

Inspect shaft excavation, supports, earthworks, ground treatment, dewatering, bore piling, and diaphragm wall construction activities
Monitor contractor activities, workmanship quality, and geotechnical performance
Witness testing and inspections for geotechnical-related works
Support installation and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation and assess instrumentation data
Maintain inspection checklists, photographic records, and geotechnical field records
Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and standards
Identify non-conformances, unexpected ground or groundwater conditions, and geotechnical risks, and recommend corrective actions
Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports and field records
Coordinate daily with resident engineers, HSE staff, and contractors
Implement project-specific HSE requirements and identify geotechnical-related hazards
Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering
10 years of relevant experience in hydropower projects or large-scale infrastructure projects
At least 3-5 years of direct geotechnical and civil experience in construction supervision or inspection of deep excavations, access shafts, earthworks, ground treatment, dewatering, bore piling, and diaphragm wall activities
Experience in vertical shaft excavation methods, including mechanized excavation and support works
Proven experience in inspection of soft soil support systems and monitoring construction works during the construction stage of hydropower projects
Experience working with contractors, designers, and supervision consultants on site
On-site inspection or supervision of construction works
Exposure to high-risk construction environments
Excellent communications skills and a positive, collaborative approach
Strong ability to inspect, monitor, and verify vertical shaft excavation, earthworks, ground treatment, dewatering, bore piling, and diaphragm wall activities against approved drawings, specifications, and method statements
