Job summary

SMEC (an SJ Group company) in Manila is seeking a Design Engineer with strong Geotechnical Design experience to support large-scale infrastructure and reclamation projects. You will collaborate with project leads, clients and contractors to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and at least 3 years in geotechnical design, with experience in foundation design, slope stability, dredging, and coastal infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 3 years of Geotechnical Design experience required.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, slope stability analysis, earthworks, ground improvement, and related geotechnical works.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure, marine, or reclamation projects.
• Experience in dredging, reclamation, rock works, wharf, jetty, or other coastal infrastructure projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Lead/Project Manager in delivering projects within schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Support the management and resolution of contract-related matters throughout project delivery and closure.
• Ensure all engineering and project activities are performed in accordance with approved methodologies and procedures.
• Maintain and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and expenditures.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders and provide regular project updates.
• Attend progress and ad hoc meetings and document key decisions and action items.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and materials for client and management meetings.
• Monitor project progress and ensure critical deadlines are achieved.
• Provide project administration and coordination support as required.
• Ensure all project documentation is maintained and compliant with project frameworks and standards.
• Undertake additional project-related tasks as necessary.

About the Role

• Willing to be assigned in Manila.
