Responsibilities

Job description

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily accounting operations and the accounting team, including task allocation, performance monitoring and development
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies
• Review and approve accounting entries, financial records and reports to maintain data integrity and accuracy
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment authorisation and collections
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure account accuracy
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements and internal control procedures
• Lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Assist in the audit process by preparing documentation and supporting auditors with necessary information
• Train and mentor accounting staff to enhance their technical skills and professional development
• Liaise with other departments to resolve accounting matters and provide financial information as required

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related field
• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly desirable
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and generally accepted accounting practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and systems (such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks or similar platforms)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
• Excellent understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger management
• Solid grasp of tax compliance and regulatory requirements relevant to the Philippines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop team members effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
