Job summary

EY is seeking a FAAS Manager for GDS Assurance in Taguig. The role focuses on timeliness and quality of financial close, reporting under IFRS/US GAAP, and leadership of a 6–10 person team including PMO activities.

You will support close processes, consolidation, intercompany activities and focus on delivering high-quality client service while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• CA, ACCA (UK), CPA, or Regular MBA from a reputed institute.
• 7-12 years relevant experience, including Entity/BU reporting, financial statement close process support, and MIS reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP.
• Experience leading a team of 6-10 members and engagement PMO activities.
• Willingness to travel on short notice.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books.
• Oversee financial close, consolidation and intercompany eliminations.
• Process journal entries, adjustments, and fixed asset accounting.
• Support KPI/SLA adherence and client communications.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for incumbents who is responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per Project requirements for our FAAS team and possess strong accounting knowledge under IFRS/US GAAP. The role requires prior experience and knowledge of leading period end close, financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books
• Financial close and consolidation
• Process journal entries, allocations, period end adjustments
• Reconcile GL accounts, perform consolidation and process elimination, post and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Perform pre close activities
• Perform fixed assets and capital project accounting
• Process and record fixed asset adjustments, enhancements, revaluations and transfers
• Process and record fixed asset maintenance and repair expenses
• Calculate and record depreciation expense
• Create project account codes
• Monitor and track capital projects and budget spending
• Close / Capitalize projects
• Ensure adherence to KPIs and SLAs and manage escalation if any
• Lead a team of 6-10 members including engagement PMO activities
• Receive direction from the Senior Manager and leadership
• Maintain effective coordination with multiple stakeholders
• Detailed review of work performed by team members
• Variance reporting & analytical review and provide necessary commentary
• Build SOPs and other end user training materials
• Use available guidance on US GAAP/IFRS for providing technical support as needed
• Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork
• Support the development and management of relationships with external and internal (EY) clients
• Support Senior Managers in business development activities
• Engage in hiring team members, structure learning path and mentor operations
• Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion and manage expectations regarding timing of deliverables and reports

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP
• Extensive experience in at least three of the following: Business unit/Entity level reporting, Record to Report, Technical accounting research and advisory, Consolidation and compilation support, Financial statement close process support, Lease accounting
• Ability and comfort level in researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
• Experience working under different ERP packages such as SAP (including SAP S4/Hana public or private cloud)
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office
• Knowledge of data analytics/visualisation tools (additional advantage)
• Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice as necessary
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical skills and proactive approach
