Job summary

Salmon Group in Manila seeks a QA Automation Engineer to own testing quality for Creatio-based workflows and API integrations, ensuring stable releases through hands-on testing and Kotlin-based automation.

You will extend our Kotlin automation framework, add new tests, run SQL data validation, and collaborate with developers, analysts, product managers, and DevOps to improve coverage across backend services.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in QA automation for backend/API-focused systems.
• Experience with Kotlin and automated test suites.
• Hands-on manual testing of web applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Experience writing and running SQL queries for data validation.
• Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and testing types: smoke, regression, functional, integration.
• Ability to analyze requirements, identify risks, and propose a practical testing strategy.

About the role

You’ll ensure stable releases across multiple OPS Tech streams by owning testing quality for complex business processes, integrations, and rapid product changes — through hands‑on testing and Kotlin-based API automation.

What you’ll do:

• Test web applications in Creatio-based systems
• Run manual and automated testing across APIs, databases, backend services, and integrations
• Extend our existing Kotlin-based automation framework by adding new tests and following established patterns

What you’ll own:

• Own end-to-end quality for your product area across Creatio-based solutions
• Validate APIs, backend integrations, business rules, and data consistency
• Analyze new features from product, technical, and user-risk perspectives before testing begins
• Participate in technical reviews, sprint planning, grooming, and requirements discussions to identify risks, clarify acceptance criteria, and shape the testing approach
• Design, maintain, and execute test cases for new and existing features
• Build and maintain API automated tests using the existing Kotlin-based framework
• Analyze logs, database records, and system behavior to identify, reproduce, and document defects
• Work closely with developers, analysts, product managers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver stable releases and improve testing coverage

What makes you a strong fit:

• 2+ years of experience in QA automation for backend/API-focused systems
• Ability to work with Kotlin and contribute to existing automated test suites
• Strong hands‑on experience in manual testing of web applications, APIs, and microservices
• Experience writing and running SQL queries for data validation
• Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and testing types: smoke, regression, functional, integration
• Ability to analyze requirements, identify risks, and propose a practical testing strategy

Good to have:

• Experience testing CRM or BPM platforms, preferably Creatio
• Experience testing applications at a financial institution
• Experience writing UI automated tests
