Job summary

ViewQwest in the Philippines is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Information Systems team. You will own features end-to-end across full-stack development, systems integration, and internal tooling, with opportunities to influence technical decisions.

You will work with React on the front end and PHP/Laravel on the back end, draft clean code, participate in reviews, and guide junior engineers while collaborating with product and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Experience with AI coding tools and modern IDEs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features across front-end (React) and back-end (PHP/Laravel or similar) applications with minimal supervision
• Contribute to the design of internal tools, dashboards, and automation workflows
• Implement and maintain APIs and third-party integrations (billing systems, ticketing, messaging, identity verification, etc.)
• Write clean, testable, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews
• Use AI coding assistants effectively as part of daily workflow, and help share best practices with the team
• Debug and troubleshoot moderately complex issues across the stack, including with AI tools where appropriate
• Provide guidance and code review feedback to junior engineers

This role suits an engineer with a few years of hands-on experience who can work independently, occasionally guide junior teammates.

What We're Looking For

• 2-4 years of professional software development experience
• Good understanding of REST APIs and experience integrating third-party systems
• Practical experience using AI coding tools (Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) for coding, debugging, or documentation
• Comfortable with Git and standard version control workflows, including branching and code review processes
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on well-scoped tasks
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across product, QA, and other engineering teams
• Experience with working in AI-assisted IDEs like Cursor for codebase navigation and refactoring and workflow automation tools is a plus
