Job summary

KLT FRUITS, INC. in the Philippines seeks a Food Scientist to conduct research and experiments to develop new fruit-based products and to optimize existing formulations. You will design tests, ensure food safety compliance, and analyze results for technical reports.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience in food R&D or safety testing, strong HACCP knowledge, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Collaboration with production and quality teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in food research and development or food safety testing.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, food preservation techniques, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment operation and analytical testing methods relevant to food products.
• Excellent data analysis and report-writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong understanding of fruit processing, preservation methods, and product formulation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information clearly.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to approach challenges systematically and creatively.
• Experience with quality control procedures and familiarity with relevant testing standards (an advantage).
• Knowledge of sustainability practices in food production (an advantage).

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and experimentation to develop new fruit-based products and improve existing formulations.
• Design and execute laboratory tests and quality assurance protocols to ensure products meet food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze data from experiments and trials, documenting findings and preparing comprehensive technical reports.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to scale laboratory innovations to commercial production levels.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and food safety regulations relevant to fruit processing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and recommend solutions to enhance product quality and shelf life.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for research activities and product development processes.
• Support the development of packaging solutions that maintain product integrity and food safety.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
