Job summary

ecoPortal is seeking an experienced Frontend Developer to enhance our health and safety SaaS platform. You will work on the frontend using React and/or Next.js, contribute to AI-assisted development workflows, and collaborate in a high-performing Agile squad with Product Managers, Developers and Testers.

You will help evolve a complex frontend, understand existing code, and deliver practical, user-focused solutions while embracing AI-assisted tooling and maintaining oversight where needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional development experience as a frontend developer.
• Strong hands-on experience with React or Next.js.
• Experience using AI-assisted or agentic programming tools.
• Experience delivering features for SaaS or complex web products.
• Agile development experience with good problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in Agile teams and collaborate with product managers, developers and testers.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the ecoPortal team.

Responsibilities

• Join a collaborative Agile squad to deliver improvements to our SaaS frontend.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Developers and Testers to implement features.
• Tackle challenges in a complex codebase and build practical solutions.
• Embrace AI-enabled development tools and oversee AI-assigned tasks as appropriate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Frontend Developer to join our talented team.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Frontend Developer with strong hands-on experience in React and/or Next.js who is passionate about solving problems and loves the idea of making a difference.

You’ll join a collaborative, high-performing Agile squad, working closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Testers to deliver improvements to our SaaS application. Our frontend is complex, so you’ll need to be comfortable getting into existing code, understanding problems, and building practical solutions.

We’re also embracing AI and agentic programming across our development teams. You’ll be expected to use AI-assisted development tools as part of your workflow and be comfortable delegating appropriate development tasks to AI agents while maintaining oversight of the work.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• 3+ years of professional development experience, with a strong focus on frontend development
• Strong hands-on experience with React and/or Next.js
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted or agentic programming tools
• Experience developing and delivering features for SaaS applications or other complex web-based products
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Experience working in Agile development teams
• The ability to work effectively with complex applications and existing codebases
• A hands-on, responsive, and can-do attitude
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A willingness to learn and grow within the ecoPortal team
• A desire to positively impact our clients and deliver real-world value
• Experience with Angular is a plus
• Experience with other frontend frameworks is a nice-to-have

We have a great work culture and work/life balance, with 37h work weeks, office hours of Mon-Fri 8am-12pm NZT (Sun-Thu where you are) and the rest of your hours at your own discretion. This is a full-time permanent position and includes 4 weeks of paid annual leave as part of your contract.
