ecoPortal is seeking a Product Designer to join our team. You will design complex software products, document patterns in our design system, and collaborate with product owners and developers to deliver intuitive interfaces.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Designer to join our talented team.

About you

As one of our highly valued designers, you will engage in a range of challenging activities, including:

• Planning/scoping of design and research
• Engaging with users to understand areas for improvement that contribute to the user experience
• Champion the user through design (system expectations, content layouts, user flow diagrams and low-fidelity mockups)
• Creating visual design (hi-fidelity mockups, graphics)
• Document common design patterns and components in our design system
• Working with the product owner and developers to build and iterate designs, ensuring they are highly usable, well thought through and consistent with the rest of the product and brand
• Identifying design and usability problems throughout the system and devising elegant solutions
• Identify core areas for improvement from internal feedback and system analytics
• Rapidly testing and iterating designs
• Working with development teams to aid their interpretation of bringing your designs to life
• Overall ensure that the customer’s view is represented throughout the product

Our Product Designers are responsible for creating beautiful, user-friendly interfaces. In addition, they can document design decisions and present to external and internal stakeholders why specific design solutions were selected. They represent ecoPortals design ethos when talking with customers and end-user.

We have a great work culture and work/life balance, with 37h work weeks, office hours of Mon-Fri 8am-12pm NZT (Sun-Thu where you are) and the rest of your hours at your own discretion. This is a full-time permanent position and includes 4 weeks of paid annual leave as part of your contract.

Our ideal applicant will have experience designing complex software products. They have a proactive communication and design attitude to help facilitate interaction between the different ecoPortal stakeholders
