Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college level is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience in receiving, warehouse, inventory, or retail operations.
• Knowledge of receiving procedures, inventory control, and basic documentation.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Physically fit and able to handle deliveries and stock movement.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Responsible, organized, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders, delivery receipts, and invoices.
• Check the quantity, quality, freshness, packaging, and condition of products received.
• Verify that delivered items meet Spinneys’ standards and specifications.
• Record and report discrepancies, damages, shortages, or incorrect deliveries.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of chilled, frozen, fresh, and dry goods.
• Maintain accurate receiving records and documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and relevant store departments regarding delivery concerns.
• Ensure the receiving area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety and hygiene standards.
• Follow proper FIFO/FEFO practices when applicable.
• Assist in inventory control and stock reconciliation when required.
• Follow company policies, food safety procedures, and workplace health and safety standards.
