About OwnBank

OwnBank is a cutting-edge, mobile-first digital banking platform powered by the Rural Bank of Cavite, Inc. We are on a mission to redefine banking in the Philippines by offering high-yield savings, seamless digital transactions, and secure financial solutions. As we scale rapidly, protecting our community from financial crime is our top priority. We are looking for a sharp, analytical, and vigilant Fraud Prevention Analyst to join our team and safeguard our platform and users.

Job Purpose

As a Fraud Prevention Analyst, you will be the first line of defense against financial crime. You will monitor transactions, analyze patterns, and investigate suspicious activities to mitigate risk, minimize fraud losses, and ensure regulatory compliance. Your insights will directly shape our fraud detection systems and help build a safer ecosystem for OwnBank users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Monitoring: Real-time monitoring and analysis of account openings, deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers to detect and prevent fraudulent activities (e.g., account takeovers, identity theft, promo abuse, and money laundering).

  • Fraud Investigation: Conduct end-to-end investigations on alerted transactions, utilizing internal data analytics tools, customer history, and external threat intelligence.

  • Risk Mitigation: Take swift action on compromised accounts, including freezing funds, restricting access, and coordinating with customer support for verification.

  • Chargeback & Dispute Management: Handle unauthorized transaction claims, gather evidence, and manage the dispute resolution process with payment networks and partner banks.

  • Rule & Model Optimization: Collaborate with the Risk and Data Science teams to refine fraud detection rules, reduce false positives, and adapt to emerging fraud trends.

  • Reporting & Compliance: Document investigation findings thoroughly and assist in preparing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) in compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and AMLC regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in fraud detection, risk management, or anti-money laundering (AML) within a FinTech, digital bank, or traditional banking environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Excel/Google Sheets) and experience using fraud monitoring platforms (e.g., Sift, Feedzai, LexisNexis, or similar proprietary tools).

  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional critical thinking skills with the ability to connect disparate data points to uncover complex fraud networks.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Philippine banking regulations, specifically BSP guidelines on consumer protection and AML/CFT laws and AFASA.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to document cases clearly and interface with cross‑functional teams under high‑pressure situations.
