Internal Job Title: Senior Risk Investigator

Using strong analytical and investigative skills, you will deliver evidence-based risk assessments and actionable recommendations that support informed business decisions while ensuring compliance with established policies and risk controls.
Review the Trigger: Begin by understanding why the case was flagged. What triggered the alert?
Gather Relevant Information: Collect and analyze all available data related to the merchant or transaction. What do the available records reveal?
Verify the Merchant (KYC/CDD/EDD): Conduct these procedures to verify the merchant's legitimacy and identify any inconsistencies.
Perform Sanctions and Watchlist Screening: Determine whether a potential match is genuine or a false positive by screening against international sanctions lists, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) lists, adverse media, internal blacklists, and regulatory watchlists.
Analyze Transaction Behavior: Look for unusual patterns rather than isolated events. Does the transaction behavior align with the merchant's business model? Is it consistent with historical activity?
Assess Overall Risk: Evaluate the complete picture and determine whether the merchant or activity presents a low, medium, or high level of risk.
Document Findings and Make Recommendations: Prepare clear, well-documented, evidence-based case reports and provide actionable recommendations to support sound risk decisions.
