Job summary

Sun Life Foundation is seeking a Finance Specialist to provide financial accounting, reporting and donor fund stewardship. The role involves close collaboration with Foundation leadership, Finance and external partners to ensure accurate records, regulatory compliance and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of experience in accounting/finance, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with nonprofit or grant-funded funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
• Experience in nonprofit, foundation, donor-funded, or grant-funded organizations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting, treasury, and financial administration activities.
• Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation for reporting and audits.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close with variance analysis.
• Oversee donations, grants, donor funds, and compliance with donor restrictions.
• Maintain internal controls and drive finance process improvements.
• Coordinate with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders for reports and audits.
