About the role

The Forklift Operator in a food manufacturing facility safely and efficiently moves raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished food products. This role ensures seamless inventory flow between the warehouse, staging areas, and production lines while strictly complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards (such as FSSC or HACCP), and warehouse safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Transport raw ingredients, food-grade packaging materials, and supplies to active production lines to maintain uninterrupted operations
• Safely transfer palletized finished food products from production to the warehouse or cold storage / ambient staging areas for shipping
• Inspect, load, and unload delivery trucks and containers, ensuring that food products are handled gently, stacked securely, and protected from contamination or damage
• Ensure all movements comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), keep pallets elevated off the floor when required, prevent allergen cross-contamination during transit, and ensure materials are kept clean and sealed
• Perform daily safety and mechanical check-ups on the forklift (battery levels, LPG tanks, brakes, mast, and tires) and report any issues immediately
• Maintain cleanliness on the equipment to avoid food contamination risks
• Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation (utilizing FIFO/FEFO principles - First In, First Out / First Expired, First Out), and scanning barcodes or updating inventory logs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse and loading dock, free of debris, spills, or packaging waste

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School graduate or Senior High School graduate
• Vocational graduate or holder of a TESDA National Certificate II (NC II) in Forklift Operation (or local equivalent safety certification)
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience operating forklifts (counterbalance, reach trucks, or ride-on pallet jacks) within a food manufacturing, FMCG, or cold storage environment
• Valid Forklift Operator License/Certification
• Valid Professional Driver's License
• Health Card / Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to secure one)
• Deep understanding of FIFO/FEFO inventory principles critical for perishable or shelf-life-sensitive food goods
• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and FSSC safety guidelines as they apply to warehousing and material handling
• Excellent spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and precision driving skills in tight warehouse aisles or production zones
• Strong attention to detail, high safety consciousness, and reliability
