Job summary

You will conduct analyses on raw materials through finished products, collect and manage samples, and monitor trends to ensure traceability and compliance with safety standards. You will also report on microbiological results and support sanitation improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience performing microbiological analyses in food production.
• Knowledge of sanitation, hygiene and GMP practices.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate lab records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses of raw materials, ingredients, in-process products and finished goods
• Perform sample collection, handling, storage, preparation and disposal
• Monitor microbiological trends and traceability
• Conduct environmental monitoring of production areas, equipment, utensils and food contact surfaces
• Evaluate effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation activities
• Recommend improvements to sanitation practices and hygienic zoning
• Assist in investigating microbiological failures, product contamination, spoilage, and recurring hygiene issues
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization and appropriate environmental conditions
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly microbiological testing reports
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and worksheets
