Job summary

Fluor Corporation in the Philippines seeks an experienced Fire Protection Design Engineer to support design-phase activities, develop deliverables, and coordinate with HSE teams. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least five years of relevant experience.

You will prepare fire protection layouts, perform hydraulic calculations, and contribute to major projects using CAD tools and PIPENet. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in execution of fire protection design/engineering activities during the design phase.
• Support HSE activities under supervision of senior personnel.
• Prepare deliverables: fire and gas concept sketches/layout; fire water demand calculations; protection drawings and specifications.
• Assist with line sizing for fire water PFD/P&IDs; deluge layouts; and fire zone layouts.
• Perform routine HSE tasks and interface with other disciplines.

Primary Job Duties/Functions Are As Follows

• Assist in execution of FIRE PROTECTION DESIGN/ENGINEERING activities during Design Phase of the project
• Conduct HSE activities under instruction of intermediate or senior HSE design personnel as listed in the following bullets.
• Assists in preparation of the following deliverables:
  • Fire and Gas concept sketches/layout
  • Fire Water Demand Calculation
  • Fire Protection Drawings/ Specifications
  • Passive Fire Protection Layout
  • Conceptual Fire Water Layout
  • Fire Protection equipment Layout
  • Deluge detailed arrangement drawings
  • Line sizing for Fire Water PFD/ P&IDs
  • Fire fighting specifications
  • Fire Zone Layout
  • Other fire fighting drawings required per project
  • Assists in preparation of Fire water hydraulic calculations using PIPEnet
  • Perform routine HSE assignments requiring interface with other disciplines.

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of at least 5 years of relevant experience of Fire Protection Design/Engineering
• Successful completion of major projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Experience in PIPENet software is required.
• Experience in using CAD tools such as AutoCad and Microstation is required.
• Experience in using 3D model viewing tools such as Smart Plant Review and Review Reality or equivalent software is required.
