Job summary

Fluor in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Design/Engineering professional to support design activities during the project lifecycle. The role emphasizes HSE compliance, safety standards, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

A Bachelor’s in Engineering and a minimum of five years’ fire protection experience are required, with proficiency in PIPENet, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and 3D model tools such as Smart Plant Review and Review Reality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant Fire Protection design/engineering experience.
• Experience on major projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in execution of fire protection design/engineering activities during the design phase.
• Perform HSE-related tasks under supervision of senior personnel.
• Prepare fire protection drawings, layouts, and related deliverables.
• Develop fire water layouts and line sizing calculations.
• Contribute to fire fighting specifications and zone layouts.
• Use PIPENet for fire water hydraulic calculations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to complete routine HSE assignments.
• Assist in preparation of deliverables such as deluge arrangements.
• Support CAD and 3D model review activities.

Job Description

Position Objectives:

• Positive attitude towards leaning and applying HSE practices
• Promote and foster HSE standards and goals
• Develop knowledge and skills to meet required levels for upgrade

Primary Job Duties/Functions are as follows:

• Assist in execution of FIRE PROTECTION DESIGN/ENGINEERING activities during Design Phase of the project
• Conduct HSE activities under instruction of intermediate or senior HSE design personnel as listed in the following bullets.
• Assists in preparation of the following deliverables:
• Fire and Gas concept sketches/layout
• Fire Water Demand Calculation
• Fire Protection Drawings/ Specifications
• Passive Fire Protection Layout
• Conceptual Fire Water Layout
• Fire Protection equipment Layout
• Deluge detailed arrangement drawings
• Line sizing for Fire Water PFD/ P&IDs
• Fire fighting specifications
• Fire Zone Layout
• Other fire fighting drawings required per project
• Assists in preparation of Fire water hydraulic calculations using PIPEnet
• Perform routine HSE assignments requiring interface with other disciplines.

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of at least 5 years of relevant experience of Fire Protection Design/Engineering
• Successful completion of major projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Experience in PIPENet software is required.
• Experience in using CAD tools such as AutoCad and Microstation is required.
• Experience in using 3D model viewing tools such as Smart Plant Review and Review Reality or equivalent software is required.
