Job summary
Design Works Engineering in Makati is seeking a motivated Fire Protection Designer to join our growing team. You will contribute to design and specification of fire protection systems for diverse commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and client specifications.
The role requires a degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a Fire Protection specialization and at least 2 years of hands-on experience.
Qualifications
- University degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with Fire Protection specialization.
- At least 2 years designing fire protection systems for commercial, high-rise, multi-family or industrial buildings.
- Strong communication to coordinate with inter-discipline teams.
- Familiarity with NFPA and relevant codes; apply with client specs.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD; Autosprink a plus.
- Fluency in English required.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to all project phases, ensuring compliance with fire safety codes and timelines.
- Design and specify fire protection systems (fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke management, emergency lighting).
- Prepare drawings and specifications for fire protection systems.
- Review client specifications to incorporate requirements into the design.
- Review shop drawings for design compliance and contribute to standards development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fire protection with other building systems.
- Perform fire risk assessments and modelling, including egress and fire dynamics.
