Job summary

TÜV Rheinland Philippines Inc. is seeking a Fire & Life Safety project specialist based in Makati to review plans, perform on-site inspections, and coordinate with consultants to ensure compliance with the Fire Code of the Philippines and NFPA standards.

You will assist in mechanical system reviews, participate in testing and commissioning, and prepare detailed inspection reports highlighting non-conformities and recommended improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Experience in product development, project management, or manpower recruitment preferred.
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with contractors, clients, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of ACONEX is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
• Experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and team coordination for safety‑critical projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong coordination, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent research and development skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings with clients and Fire & Life Safety design consultants to discuss code compliance requirements.
• Conduct technical reviews of plans and calculations for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Means of Egress, and other systems per Philippine Fire Code and NFPA standards.
• Assist in reviewing Fire & Life Safety mechanical systems.
• Provide technical responses to design consultants and architects on compliance and technical concerns.
• Conduct on-site inspections of Fire & Life Safety installations and provide improvement recommendations.
• Witness and monitor official testing and commissioning of Fire & Life Safety systems.
• Prepare inspection reports detailing non-compliance issues.
• Ensure all Fire & Life Safety systems are complete and compliant with Fire Code, RIRR, and international codes.

Job Description

• Attend meetings with clients and Fire & Life Safety (FLS) design consultants to discuss code compliance requirements and address technical queries.
• Conduct technical reviews of plans and calculations for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems, Means of Egress, Compartmentation, LPG Systems, Diesel Systems, Special Fire Suppression Systems, Emergency Lighting, and Exit Signage, ensuring compliance with the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (RIRR) of Republic Act No. 9514 (Fire Code of the Philippines) and other applicable NFPA standards.
• Assist in the review of Fire & Life Safety (FLS) mechanical systems.
• Provide technical responses to Fire & Life Safety (FLS) design consultants and architects regarding code compliance and other technical concerns.
• Conduct on-site inspections of ongoing and completed Fire & Life Safety installations, and provide recommendations for rectification and improvements to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Witness and monitor the official testing and commissioning of Fire & Life Safety systems.
• Prepare inspection reports summarizing findings and detailing any non-compliance issues identified during inspections.
• Ensure that all Fire & Life Safety systems are complete, fully operational, and compliant with the Fire Code of the Philippines, its Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (RIRR), and other applicable international codes and standards.

Job Qualifications

Work Experience

• Advanced basic knowledge in English (A2 Elementary).
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in related area.

Profile description

Responsible for reviewing Fire and Life Safety (FLS) systems and designs to ensure compliance with the Fire Code of the Philippines, applicable NFPA standards, and other relevant regulations.
