The role involves modeling, designing, and analyzing fire alarm, fire protection, life safety systems, and preparing calculations, layouts, and documentation, with remote collaboration and a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (fire protection, fire alarms, electrical, mechanical, or related field).
• At least 4–5 years of experience in fire alarm and fire protection design.
• Proven expertise in design of fire alarm, fire protection, and/or life safety systems.
• Knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC).
• Written and spoken English B1 and higher.
• Hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit is required.

Responsibilities

• Model fire alarm and fire protection systems using Autodesk Revit and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Develop understanding of project requirements related to scope, cost, and schedule.
• Determine and expedite engineering deliverables for projects.

The role involves continuous collaboration across multiple mission-critical projects, based onbusiness needs. You will provide services asan independent, self-employed professional under aformal independent contractor agreement.

Role Summary:

Weare seeking askilled Fire Alarm & Fire Protection Design Engineer tosupport the design and coordination ofcutting-edge data center projects across the U.S. Inthis role, you will beresponsible for modeling, designing, and analyzing fire protection systems, including fire suppression, fire detection, and life safety systems. You will prepare engineering calculations, layouts, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams inacollaborative, fast-paced environment, contributing across the full project lifecycle from schematic design through execution. Key Responsibilities:

• Using Autodesk Revit (required) tomodel fire alarm and fireprotection systems and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Developing athorough understanding and delivery ofproject requirements asthey relate toscope, cost, and schedule.
• Determining and expediting engineering deliverables for projects.
• Developing and maintaining project scope ofwork documentation and revisions asrequired during design evolution.
• Designing fire protection systems including fire suppression (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge systems), fire detection and alarm systems, and life safety systems.
• Preparing engineering calculations, hydraulic calculations, schematic designs, and detailed designs.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable fire protection codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, IFC).
• Preparing technical documentation required for project execution, including design criteria, calculations, specifications, and equipment data sheets.
• Reviewing shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design intent.
• Producing models and drawings inBIM and CAD tools.
• Performing occasional site visits tosupport construction progress (valid U.S. work visa considered anasset but not required).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Abachelor’s ormaster’s degree inengineering (fire protection, fire alarms, electrical,mechanical, orrelated field).
• Atleast 4−5 years ofexperience infire alarm and fire protection design.
• Proven expertise inthe design offire alarm, fire protection, and/or life safety systems.
• Knowledge offire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, FMGlobal isaplus).
• Written and spoken English B1 and higher.
• Hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit isrequired.
