Qualifications

About The Role

As the Financial Accounting Unit Head, you are responsible for the overall operation and supervision of Financial Accounting JV Unit and ensures that policies and procedures are adhered to in all general accounting transactions.

As the Financial Accounting Unit Head, you are responsible for the overall operation and supervision of Financial Accounting JV Unit and ensures that policies and procedures are adhered to in all general accounting transactions.

You will supervise and direct the operation of the subledgers handled by the team such as Fixed Asset, Accounts Receivables, and Project Financial Management in the Oracle ERP System. You must ensure the integrity of records and reports being accomplished and submitted, internal controls are operating effectively, and assess procedures for continuous improvement of the team.

How you’ll contribute

• Ensures that monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports are reviewed and delivered timely and accurately
• Understands relevant policies, legislation, accounting standards, regulations, and tax principles and corresponding implications through the supervision and review of officers’ work and performance of general ledger and subledgers daily process and period-end close duties
• Adheres to internal and external reporting requirements of internal and external auditors, tax, risk, among others
• Ensures timely review of reconciliation of the general ledgers and reporting systems against transaction subledgers and resolves any operational and accounting issues
• Performs review and monitoring of the unit’s KRA
• Sets clear objectives and goals of the team and contributes to the team member’s professional development
• Ensures updated access rights and authority limits for Oracle and FBEQ thru periodic review of the security matrix with the aim of preventing unauthorized access to the systems of the Bank and posting of unauthorized transactions
• Other related tasks which may be assigned from time to time

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or relevant course
• Certified Public Accountant is a plus but not required
• At least 10 years of experience with people management function, preferably in the same industry, leasing, or financing business
• Knowledgeable on accounting standards and government laws/bulletins
• Analytical, keen to details, and with good leadership skills
• Computer proficient
