The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficiency in financial processes. This role involves supervising accounting staff, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and records.
- Supervision & Leadership: Manage and mentor accounting staff, assign tasks, and oversee workload distribution.
- General Ledger Management: Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.
- Audit & Internal Controls: Assist in internal and external audits, implementing controls to safeguard assets.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support financial planning, budgeting, and cost control efforts.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting procedures and systems.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent is a plus).
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
