Job summary

Our Clients in Taguig is seeking a Finance policy and technical accounting specialist to develop and maintain policies, procedures and internal controls. You will provide guidance on complex accounting matters and prepare memos for Finance stakeholders.

You will lead assessments for IFRS standards (IFRS 17/IFRS 9), review disclosures, and coordinate with auditors. A CPA and strong communication across teams are essential.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• IFRS knowledge essential with emphasis on IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Finance policies, operating procedures, and internal control frameworks in accordance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex and judgmental matters, including the preparation of accounting memos, policies, guidelines, and recommendations for Finance stakeholders.
• Lead impact assessments and implementation efforts related to new and revised accounting and sustainability standards, including IFRS requirements and associated system enhancements.
• Review financial reports and disclosures to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards; coordinate with internal and external auditors and stay informed of emerging accounting and reporting developments.
• Contribute to strategic Finance initiatives by providing subject matter expertise across process improvements, third-party financial assessments, Finance projects, system implementations, and cross-functional business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline, with a CPA designation required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, or accounting advisory.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements. Experience with IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 implementation within the insurance industry is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities, with the ability to develop practical and effective solutions to complex accounting and business challenges.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
