Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Manager to lead the Balance Sheet Substantiation Initiative across Asia, standardizing reconciliation, substantiation, ownership, and reviews. You will oversee governance, drive regional rollout from the Philippines and Hong Kong, coordinate with Finance teams, and advance backlogs and control improvements while exploring automation opportunities.

Qualifications

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years in financial accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, controllership, governance, audit, or finance transformation.
At least 1–2 years of people leadership, managing 2+ FTEs.
Proven experience leading projects with cross-functional teams.
Strong stakeholder management and change management capabilities.
Understanding of general ledger processes and remediation of aged balances.
Proven ability to influence without authority and drive accountability.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive updates.
Willing to report by day shift and in Diliman, Quezon City.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end execution of the Balance Sheet Substantiation Initiative across Asia markets.
Drive delivery for the Philippines and Hong Kong and rollout roadmap.
Maintain governance, risk tracking, and management reporting.
Coordinate dependencies across local Finance teams and stakeholders.
Identify control weaknesses and implement preventive and detective controls.
