Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce required.
• CA or CPA qualification or nearing completion expected.
• 5-7+ years commercial accounting experience is necessary.
• Strong hands-on experience in month-end close and management reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to provide commercial insight to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
• Maintain ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support preparation of Board and Executive reporting packs.
• Assist with annual statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards in financial accounting and taxation.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes with detailed analysis and commercial insight.
• Execute month-end and year-end close processes in line with reporting timetables.
• Support transactional finance functions (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations) ensuring appropriate controls are applied.
• Assist with audit processes and statutory reporting requirements.
• Apply strong financial controls and support governance across the organisation.
• Partner with operational leaders to translate financial results into actionable insights.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.
• Other position-level duties as they arise.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years’ commercial accounting experience within multi-entity, hospitality, retail, or similar operational environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience in month‑end close, balance sheet ownership, and management reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to provide commercial insight to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Experience working in regulated or high‑volume transactional environments (advantageous).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with practical application of AASB standards.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and accountability.
• Ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative finance team environment.
