The Finance Manager is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Finance function, ensuring sound financial planning, reporting, analysis, controls, and compliance. The position provides management with accurate and timely financial information to support business decisions, profitability, financial sustainability, and long-term organizational growth.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Planning
- Leads the overall financial management of the organization and ensures alignment of financial activities with business objectives.
- Develops and implements financial plans, policies, procedures, and controls.
- Leads the preparation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and financial plans in coordination with various departments.
- Monitors actual financial performance against budget and provides explanations and recommendations for significant variances.
- Provides management with financial insights, projections, and recommendations to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Identifies financial risks, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversees the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial statements, management reports, and financial schedules.
- Reviews financial reports to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Provides financial analysis covering revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and other key financial indicators.
- Establishes and monitors financial KPIs and performance indicators.
- Prepares financial presentations and management reports for senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensures proper reconciliation and resolution of significant financial discrepancies.
Budget & Cost Management
- Leads the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Reviews departmental budgets and challenges assumptions where necessary.
- Monitors operating expenses and identifies opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency.
- Establishes appropriate cost-control measures without compromising operational requirements.
- Conducts financial reviews of major expenditures, projects, and business initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development
- Leads, coaches, and develops the Finance team.
- Establishes clear performance expectations, accountabilities, and work standards.
- Reviews team performance and identifies training and development needs.
- Promotes accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Finance function.
- Performs other finance-related duties and special projects as may be assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably with managerial or supervisory experience.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Experience in a multi‑site or multi‑business environment is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.
