The Finance Automation Manager is responsible for identifying, designing, implementing, and governing automation solutions across finance processes within the Global Business Services (GBS) organization. The role supports Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Record-to-Report, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, and other finance functions by leveraging RPA, workflow automation, artificial intelligence, process mining, and analytics solutions.
This position serves as a key partner to process owners, operational teams, IT, and Finance leadership to eliminate manual activities, improve controls, accelerate cycle times, and drive productivity and scalability across the finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Delivery
- Develop and maintain the finance automation roadmap aligned with GBS and Finance transformation objectives.
- Identify automation opportunities across finance processes through process assessments, value stream mapping, and operational reviews.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of automation initiatives from business case development through deployment and stabilization.
- Evaluate and implement solutions including RPA, AI, workflow automation, data integration, and low-code platforms.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on simplification, standardization, and automation.
- Eliminate non-value-added activities and reduce manual touchpoints across finance operations.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and control effectiveness.
- Establish automation governance, prioritization frameworks, and ROI measurement.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Finance leadership, process owners, IT, and Global Business Services teams to prioritize automation opportunities.
- Facilitate workshops to identify pain points, develop solutions, and gain stakeholder alignment.
- Communicate project status, benefits realization, risks, and milestones to senior management.
Analytics & Digital Solutions
- Develop dashboards and KPI reporting to measure operational performance and automation benefits.
- Leverage ERP and finance system data to generate actionable insights.
- Support the implementation of AI-enabled solutions for reporting, forecasting, invoice processing, reconciliations, and close activities.
Governance & Controls
- Ensure automation solutions comply with internal controls, SOX requirements, data privacy regulations, and corporate policies.
- Establish monitoring and maintenance procedures for production automations.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews of automation performance and control effectiveness.
Capability Building
- Promote an automation-first culture across finance teams.
- Train and coach finance employees on digital tools, process improvement, and automation concepts.
- Build a pipeline of automation opportunities and support citizen developer programs where applicable.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Automation or RPA certifications preferred (Power Platform, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, etc.).
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Finance Shared Services, Global Business Services, Finance Transformation, Continuous Improvement, or Automation.
- Minimum 3 years leading automation programs or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working within multinational shared service or captive service center environments.
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable productivity improvements and cost savings.
Technical Skills
- ERP systems: SAP preferred; experience with Oracle or other major ERP platforms is advantageous.
- Automation platforms such as Power Platform, Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or similar.
- Analytics tools including Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, or equivalent.
- Understanding of core finance processes including P2P, O2C, R2R, Treasury, and FP&A.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in finance operations.
