Job summary

Merck Group in the Philippines seeks a Finance Automation expert to drive auto-certification initiatives and optimize Record to Report processes. You will define automation rules, support configuration and lead design workshops with cross-functional teams to ensure IFRS-compliant financial operations.

You will collaborate with auditors, contribute to PMO deliverables, manage Redwood Finance Automation, and develop global work instructions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• CPA or ICA certification is desirable.
• Strong process improvement skills and hands-on experience with process automation for Record to Report – General Accounting processes.

Role

• Drive automation projects by pinpointing opportunities for auto-certification and enhancing financial processes.
• Define and set automation rules, assisting the technical team during the configuration and implementation stages.
• Lead design workshops.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration.
• Ensure all processes comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Perform regular Business Process Expert tasks in Redwood Finance Automation, manage processes in this tool, and implement controls to prevent disruptions.
• Develop and maintain global work instructions and procedures, as well as conduct training for subject matter experts.
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
• Support project management with PMO tasks as needed, including project intake, governance, status reporting, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to PMO deliverables such as milestone tracking, risk/issue logs, and change-control documentation.

Who You Are

• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or ICA are highly desirable.
• Strong process improvement skills and hands-on experience with process automation for Record to Report - General Accounting processes, including tools and methodologies.
• Extensive knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP S/4 HANA or SAP ECC.
• Understanding of core accounting processes, including Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Asset Accounting (AA), General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP).
• Experience in large-scale transformation projects and the ability to design and document comprehensive accounting processes with a focus on compliance and efficiency.
• Ability to excel in dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability and a positive attitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with agile project management practices is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
• Experience with Redwood (RunmyFinance) Finance Automation (configuration and implementation) is a significant advantage, and experience with Blackline or other financial process automation tools is also beneficial.
• PMO exposure or experience supporting project governance, reporting, and process improvement; familiarity with PMO tools and methodologies is a plus.
