Job summary

Manila Water Philippine Ventures seeks an experienced accounting professional to manage financial activities across reporting, consolidation, compliance, and audits. The role ensures 100% regulatory and audit compliance and oversees the Accounting Department.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Accountancy, CPA, and has 5+ years in accounting with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity; MBA is a plus, SAP knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• BS in Accountancy; MBA an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years related work experience with at least 3 years managerial experience in Accounting.
• Must be a Certified Public Accountant
• SAP knowledge an advantage

• Timely preparation, review and submission of accurate financial reports and analyses.
• Oversees maintenance and updating of Finance database; consolidates monthly financial reports.
• Daily review of financial transactions to ensure alignment with approved budget.

• Handles external financial audits; evaluates findings and drafts recommendations for improvements.
• Ensures 100% approved policies and procedures and compliance for standard processes.
• Participates in Financial, Operational and Compliance audits; defines audit scope

Job description

ROLE PURPOSE:

Manages the financial activities of subsidiary operations covering accounting, financial reporting, monitoring and analysis, financial report consolidation, tax, budget and related compliance requirements to ensure financial soundness and viability of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Timely preparation, review and submission of accurate financial reports and analysis
   
   
   
   • Oversees the maintenance and updating of Finance database, consolidates monthly financial report
   
   
   
   


2. Daily review of financial transactions to ensure alignment with approved budget
   
   
   
   • Oversees day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department
   
   
   
   


3. 100% compliance with government agencies’ requirements on financial related concerns
   
   
   
   • Handles regulatory compliance on financial related concerns
   
   
   
   


4. 100% compliance with external financial audit requirements to ensure timely resolution of audit findings
   
   
   
   • Evaluates audit findings, prepares and presents the results of audit works; drafts comments and recommendations for appropriate improvements
   
   
   
   


5. Ensure business unit has 100% approved policies and procedures and ensure its compliance for all standard processes
   
   
   
   • Participates in Financial, Operational and Compliance audits; executes procedures ranging from the testing of detailed transaction to the evaluation and establishment of the audit scope
   
   
   
   

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BS in Accountancy, with MBA an advantage


• Must have at least 5 years related work experience with at least 3 years managerial experience in Accounting
