Job summary

Altus Capital Partners seeks an Associate for its Finance and Control team in Manila. The role focuses on book-keeping, portfolio accounting, and management reporting for Southeast Asia investments.

You will liaise with investors and cross-functional teams, overseeing outsourced partners and driving efficiency in payments and collections. A Chartered Accountant or CPA is preferred, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics required.
• Chartered Accountant or CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in financial control, audit, accounting, or financial operations.
• Experience with tax is an advantage but not required.
• Strong Excel and attention to detail essential.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of book-keeping for Manila-based portfolio companies.
• Enhance internal portfolio accounting and reporting systems.
• Develop regular and timely management reports from portfolio companies.
• Collaborate in investor reporting both internally and with third-party partners.
• Manage operational aspects of investments including receivables and payments.

This role is pivotal for our ongoing operations and expansion and is based at our BGC office in Manila.

Role Overview

As a Finance Associate, you will report directly to the Associate Director of Finance and play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing our financial operations and control systems.

Job Responsibilities

Corporate Responsibilities

• Take charge of book-keeping for our Manila-based portfolio companies.
• Enhance our internal portfolio accounting and reporting systems.
• Develop and implement regular and timely management reports from portfolio companies.
• Collaborate in investor reporting both internally and with third-party partners.
• Manage and oversee operational aspects of investments, including review of prepared checks, collections monitoring, and receivables management.

Management of Outsourced Partners

• Oversee relationships and tasks with third-party accountants and auditors.
• Innovate strategies to maximize value and efficiency from outsourced relationships.

Finance Operations

• Supervise payment processing operations, aiming to increase efficiency and reduce delays.
• Handle sales and collections for portfolio companies.
• Monitor supplier contracts to ensure cost effectiveness and timely payments.
• Collaborate with teams across all locations to advise and plan annual budgets.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics.
• Preferably a Chartered Accountant or CPA holder.
• At least 3 years of experience in roles such as financial controller, auditor, accountant, or financial operations.
• Experience in tax is an advantage but not required.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and international setting.
• Proficiency in English and Tagalog is mandatory.
• Seniority Level: More junior candidates may be considered for an Junior Associate position.
