Job summary

Vintage Grail Inc. is seeking a capable Finance & Accounting Officer to manage financial accounting, reporting, and Philippine tax compliance from its Makati office.

This hands-on role requires independence, problem-solving, and timely, accurate financial information to support management decisions. The ideal candidate will automate processes where possible, maintain controls, and partner with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
• Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and budget-versus-actual variance reports.
• Analyze financial performance, operating expenses, margins, working capital, receivables, payables, and inventory.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of applicable Philippine taxes.
• Handle VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, and other applicable tax requirements.
• Maintain tax schedules and supporting documents, and monitor BIR deadlines and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants, and assist with BIR audits and statutory reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and appropriate financial controls.
• Identify discrepancies, accounting issues, and compliance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Improve reporting templates, reconciliations, and accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Review work prepared by junior Finance team members when assigned.
• Act as the Finance point person when the Head of Finance is unavailable.
• Respond to management requests with urgency, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Investigate issues, present findings, and recommend practical solutions rather than simply escalating problems.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks from initial analysis through completion and follow-up.
• Coordinate with other departments and external parties on Finance-related matters.

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable, analytical, and proactive Finance & Accounting Officer to join our Finance & Control team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in managing the company’s financial accounting, reporting, and Philippine tax compliance. This is a hands-on position for someone who can work independently, solve problems, and provide accurate and timely financial information to support management decisions. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting and taxation skills, takes ownership of deliverables, and can work confidently with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
• Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
