Job summary

Portmizer Philippines Corporation is seeking a hands-on Electrical or Electronics Engineer to join the Field Service Team in the Philippines. The role focuses on field troubleshooting, diagnostics for electrical and PLC systems, and preventive maintenance of port equipment, cranes, and heavy machinery.

You will lead technicians on site, coordinate with customers and suppliers, and develop specialized expertise in port equipment while ensuring safe, reliable operation across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• REE preferred; ECE with relevant experience considered.
• RME is an advantage.
• 5+ years in field service, heavy equipment, or electro‑mechanical systems.
• Experience with port equipment, cranes, or heavy machinery is a plus.
• Strong PLC, electrical controls, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, and technical assessments.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electro‑mechanical, and PLC‑controlled systems.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and control schematics.
• Modify and troubleshoot PLC programs when required.
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and use diagnostic tools.
• Lead and coordinate technicians during field service, maintenance, repair, and project activities.
• Support commissioning, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Prepare reports, method statements, Gantt charts, and manpower plans.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and equipment principals during technical activities and site visits.
• Provide technical support for port equipment, cranes, and heavy machinery.

Portmizer Philippines Corporation is looking for a hands‑on and technically capable Electrical or Electronics Engineer to join our Field Service Team. The role involves field troubleshooting, electrical and PLC diagnostics, preventive maintenance, commissioning, inspections, repairs, and technical support for port equipment, cranes, and other heavy industrial machinery. This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working in the field, solving technical problems, coordinating with customers, and developing specialized expertise in port and heavy equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, and technical assessments.

• Troubleshoot electrical, electro‑mechanical, and PLC‑controlled systems.

• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and control system schematics.

• Modify and troubleshoot PLC programs when required.

• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and other applicable instruments.

• Lead and coordinate technicians during field service, maintenance, repair, and project activities.

• Support equipment commissioning, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

• Prepare technical reports, method statements, Gantt charts, manpower plans, and other project documentation.

• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and equipment principals during technical activities and site visits.

• Provide technical support for port equipment, cranes, and other heavy industrial machinery.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) – preferred.

• Licensed Electronics Engineer (ECE) with relevant experience in PLC, automation, controls, or industrial equipment may also be considered.

• Registered Master Electrician (RME) is an advantage.

• At least five (5) years of relevant experience in field service, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, automation, or electro‑mechanical systems.

• Experience in port equipment, cranes, or heavy equipment is an advantage.

• Knowledge of PLC systems, electrical controls, and industrial equipment troubleshooting.

• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

• Good communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

• Valid driver's license and comfortable driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
