Job summary

V2X in the Philippines is seeking an Automotive Maintenance Mechanic to perform field-level overhaul work on vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. You will examine and troubleshoot faults, test systems with diagnostic devices, and perform routine maintenance to meet military specs.

The role requires at least four years of hands-on experience, an active driver license, and eligibility for US government operator licenses and Philippine heavy licenses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Apprenticeship in Light/Heavy Automobile Repair, Automotive Mechanic or similar preferred.
• Must have country of origin driver license.
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Philippines Heavy Driver’s License as required.
• One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
• At minimum Four (4) years’ experience as an automotive maintenance mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Performs the full range of repair and modification work on heavy/light equipment and vehicles powered by internal combustion engines.
• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Accurately troubleshoots, isolates, and identify faults of equipment systems and subsystems.
• Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
• Repairs, relines, replaces, and adjusts.
• Follows checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
• Follows repair procedures, using charts, and technical manuals.
• Tests and adjusts repaired systems to meet military performance specifications.
• Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
• Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
