Job summary

The Standard Hospitality Group in the Philippines is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee facilities maintenance across SHG restaurant locations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards while leading the in-house maintenance team.

This hands-on role requires strong leadership, project management, and expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration, with daily travel to store locations to inspect and coordinate contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Licensed Engineer preferred).
• At least 7 years of experience in facilities or maintenance management within hospitality or restaurant industry.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Knowledge of kitchen and building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration).
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
• Proficient in maintenance tracking systems and MS Office tools.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency in resolving maintenance issues to minimize store downtime.
• Willing to travel daily for on-site inspections and store visits.
• Highly mobile and hands-on, ensuring visibility and responsiveness across SHG restaurant locations.
• Displays professionalism, accountability, and collaborative attitude when dealing with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for restaurant equipment, utilities, and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and local regulatory standards.
• Maintain an updated schedule for all maintenance and service contracts.
• Partner with Operations for maintenance priorities affecting restaurant performance.
• Work closely with Procurement for sourcing materials and contractors.
• Coordinate with Marketing for maintenance of physical collaterals, signage, and installations.
• Lead and develop the in-house maintenance team.
• Conduct regular inspections and performance evaluations.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and preventive maintenance.
