Job summary

Nidec Instrument (Philippines) Corporation is seeking a Facilities Engineer (Licensed Electrical Engineer) to support PEZA compliance and maintain critical electrical and mechanical systems at our Laguna facility. The role covers safety, energy conservation, and documentation to ensure continuous, compliant plant operations.

Ideal candidates hold a PRC Electrical Engineer license, have 2+ years in a similar capacity, and may be energy-management certified.

Qualifications

  • College degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience or training in the same capacity.
  • PRC license as Electrical Engineer is updated.
  • Preferably Certified Energy Manager or Energy Management Training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage PEZA requirements: prepare and archive documents for PTO, test mechanical equipment for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain electrical systems: analyze systems, generate reports, and implement energy-saving programs; respond to issues with proper documentation.
  • Maintain mechanical systems: review systems like compressed air, ventilation, DG, cooling tower; document plans and inventory; ensure safety compliance.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
  • 1. Management of PEZA requirements
    • 1.1. Ensures compliance to PEZA requirements by preparing and properly archiving pertinent document, such as, but is not limited to, technical specification of line diagrams, load description and schedule, grounding system layout needed in the application of Permit to Operate (PTO).
    • 1.2. Testing of Mechanical equipment for safety and environmental compliance.
  • 2. Electrical systems maintenance
    • 2.1 Reviews and analyzes electrical system. Makes reports and recommendations based on findings to ensure standard implementation and to serve as reference future improvement and maintenance plans;
    • 2.2 Implements electricity consumption monitoring, like load testing, and establish energy saving programs;
    • 2.3 Immediately responds and recommends solutions to the Department Manager concerning issues on the facilities and maintenance systems and procedures, specifically in the area of his expertise;
    • 2.4 Conducts investigations and diagnoses keenly prior implementing solution to electrical concerns;
    • 2.5 Regularly conducts checking of electrical equipment to ensure compliance to the electrical safety standard and occupational safety.
    • 2.6 Responsible in proper documentation of plans, systems and control measures being applied in the assigned department.
  • 3. Mechanical systems maintenance
    • 3.1 Reviews and analyzes mechanical system such as Compressed air, Ventilation and air-conditioning system, Diesel Generator, Cooling tower and exhaust systems and recommends improvement based on findings to ensure standard implementation and to serve as reference future improvement and maintenance plans;
    • 3.2 Immediately responds and recommends solutions to the concerned section regarding issues on the facilities and maintenance systems and procedures, specifically in the area of his expertise;
    • 3.3 Regularly conducts checking of mechanical equipment to ensure trouble free operation and comply to the safety standard and occupational safety.
    • 3.4 Responsible in proper documentation of plans, systems and control measures being applied in the assigned department;
    • 3.5 Archive records of machine list and maintenance history
    • 3.6 Ensures that an inventory of equipment, consumables and other supplies pertinent to electrical power lines are regularly conduction by the plant technicians.
    • 3.7 Ensures that the repair and maintenance history are properly archived for future reference.
    • 3.8 Ensures that all pertinent documentation is done on a regular basis to ensure continuity and traceability.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Education and Experience/Training
  • 1.1 College degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1.2 With at least minimum of 2 years of work experience or training in the same capacity is required
  • 1.3 With updated PRC license as Electrical Engineer
  • 1.4 Preferably a Certified Energy Manager and/or with Energy Management Training
