Job summary

NightOwl Consulting is seeking a production pattern designer to develop fabric patterns and shop drawings, ensuring all fabrication files are accurate and complete.

You will chart the fabrication process, produce CAD patterns and CNC cutting files, and create detailed shop drawings to guide manufacturing. The role bridges Design and Fabrication, requiring collaboration and clear documentation to support efficient production.

Responsibilities

• Produce fabric patterns & shop drawings plus all fabrication files.
• Chart the fabrication process.
• Produce CAD patterns.
• Produce and format CNC cutting files.
• Produce shop drawings detailing the process.
• Bridge between Design Team and Fabricators.
• Collaborate with Design to understand overlaps with Fabrication.
• Learn design processes leading to fabrication.
• Create technical part drawings/shop drawings for production design.
• Lead fabricators’ understanding of assembly, order and details.
• Understand all production (fabric assembly) processes.
• Review past pattern processes and generate new patterns.
• Contribute to institutional learning and share knowledge.
• Maintain technical documentation and company standards.
• Follow and maintain file creation, management, collaboration, and archives.
• Understand work flow and modify as needed.
• Keep open communication between team members and departments.
