Job summary

Join is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong fabrication background to translate concepts into manufacturable designs. The role requires hands-on use of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, detailing drawings for fabrication, and close collaboration with fabrication and project teams to ensure practical, accurate deliverables.

The ideal candidate will read and interpret complex drawings, apply welding knowledge, and develop robust designs for manufactured components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in mechanical fabrication and design.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Understanding of welding processes and fabrication methods.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop detailed fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Read and interpret engineering, fabrication, assembly, and welding drawings.
• Develop practical designs for fabricated components and assemblies.
• Ensure drawings include dimensions, tolerances, materials, specifications, and fabrication details.
• Apply welding knowledge and weld symbols when preparing and reviewing drawings.
• Review designs for fabrication, assembly, and installation suitability.
• Collaborate with fabricators and engineers to resolve design issues.
• Modify and improve existing designs based on fabrication requirements or changes.
• Prepare and review fabrication, shop, and assembly drawings.
• Perform drawing checks for dimensional or fabrication issues before production.
• Coordinate with suppliers and fabrication teams for clarification.
• Assist with material take-offs and technical documentation.
• Use Navisworks or similar to review models for clashes.
• Ensure all drawings meet project and client requirements.
