Responsibilities

About the role

City Garden Hotel Makati is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to join our hospitality team in Makati City. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout our hotel. As Executive Housekeeper, you will lead our housekeeping department and ensure that every guest experience is exceptional by overseeing all aspects of room maintenance, guest services and operational excellence. This leadership position is integral to our commitment to delivering five-star hospitality and creating a welcoming environment for all our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including scheduling staff, assigning tasks and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, corridors and facilities to ensure they meet company cleanliness and presentation standards

• Maintain comprehensive records of room status, maintenance requests, guest complaints and staff performance

• Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures and training programmed to enhance department efficiency and service quality

• Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, toiletries and equipment, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and usage

• Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints related to room cleanliness or amenities, resolving issues professionally and courteously

• Conduct regular training and quality assurance inspections with housekeeping staff to maintain consistency and high standards

• Coordinate with other departments including front office, maintenance and management to ensure seamless hotel operations

• Monitor budget allocations and work to optimize operational costs without compromising quality

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and hotel policies at all times

• Participate in staff recruitment, selection and performance management for the housekeeping department

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5-7 years of housekeeping experience in a full-service hotel or similar hospitality establishment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities and deadlines

• Comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning techniques, equipment and supplies

• Proficiency in housekeeping management software and computer systems

• Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards

• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous

• Customer service excellence with the ability to handle guest interactions professionally and diplomatically

• Physical fitness to perform the demands of the role, including walking, bending, lifting and standing for extended periods

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, HACCP standards and environmental best practices in hospitality

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
